The Hudson Hawk Band is comprised of approximately 330 students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.  Our students begin their journey in the 6th grade in one of 9 homogenous beginner classes.  (Typically) In April of each year, we hold an instrument test drive where incoming students can try out the different instruments and we help them select the instrument that is the best fit for them.

Our Beginner Band performs 3 concerts (Fall, Winter, and Spring) and participates in 2 competitions (Solo/Ensemble and a Spring Festival) each year.  

Once out of Beginner Band, our students audition into one of 4 ability based advanced bands: Wind Symphony, Honors, Symphonic, or Concert.  All 3 of our UIL bands have earned Sweepstakes (Superior) ratings at their UIL Concert & Sightreading Contests and Spring Festivals. 

​​Our program is rapidly growing and we are extremely proud of the legacy that has been left by each of our graduating 8th grade classes!  There are fantastic things in store for the Hudson Hawk Band!
