GISD All-District and TMEA Region 3 Band Auditions
Throughout the entire fall semester, our students learned, practiced, and perfected their scales and music for the GISD All-District and TMEA Region 3 All-Region Band auditions. We are so proud of the students for their preparation, for having the courage to audition, and for how well they represented our school. We had over 60 students audition for the All District and All Region Bands. We are so proud of the students who auditioned - they worked so hard to prepare their music and represented our program in such a positive light. We are proud of them for pushing themselves outside of their comfort zones and showing so much growth through this process. We are proud to announce that we had 34 students earn a chair in one of the GISD All-District Bands, more than any other school! We also had 30 students earn a chair in one of the TMEA Region 3 All-Region Bands! Congradulations to the following students for earning a spot:

On April 12th, 43 of our Beginner Band students auditioned for the GISD Beginner All-Star Band. They competed against other beginner students from ALL over GISD. They showed great courage, preparation, and pushed themselves out of their comfort zone in order to perform for a 3-judge panel. We are so proud of them for the growth they've shown throughout the process and are especially proud of the 21 students who earned a chair in one of the GISD Beginner All-Star Bands! Advanced Bands Crush UIL Performance!
On April 1st and 2nd, our Advanced Bands performed their UIL programs at the annual UIL Concert & Sightreading Evaluations held at Rowlett High School. The students perfected 3 pieces of music over the past 3 months, performed them for 3 judges on stage, then learned a completely new piece of music in 8 minutes before performing it for a different set of 3 judges in the band hall. It is an intense process, but one where our students grow as musicians and really learn to work together for a common goal. For the second time in school history, ALL 3 HUDSON ADVANCED BANDS EARNED A COVETED SWEEPSTAKES AWARD! We are still the ONLY middle school band in GISD to achieve this honor and we are so proud!

Hudson Bands Make GISD History!
All 3 of our Advanced Bands attended the UIL Concert & Sightreading Evaluation the week of April 1, 2019.
